PERFECTED FOR YOU

Handbid started with a simple idea: technology should make complex events effortless.
Today, it powers world-class experiences for organizations that demand both polish and precision.

Our Story

born from EXPERIENCE NOT theory

In 2010, Jeff and Kari Porter were preparing for the next annual Derby Day fundraiser for the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association of Colorado (PWSACO) — the nonprofit they had founded in 2004 after their daughter Abby's diagnosis. Jeff was running a mobile software company at the time, and he saw a better way to run the auction. He hired a developer to build a mobile bidding app for that year's event.

so, we built handbid

On May 7, 2011, Derby Day became the first event ever powered by what would become Handbid. Revenue more than doubled. What started as a solution for one nonprofit grew into a trusted platform used by nonprofits, corporations, private markets, and high-end event teams who share the same mission: run flawless events and deliver experiences that feel effortless.

meet our FOUNDERS

“We built Handbid because we understand what’s at stake when events fall short.
And we’ll keep improving it, because your reputation deserves better.”

Before Handbid was a platform, it was a necessity. As founders of a nonprofit, Jeff and Kari understood firsthand how messy event management could be—and how a single point of friction could undo months of planning.

We built Handbid to make event execution smoother, data smarter, and experiences stronger.

More than a decade later, Handbid has grown from a grassroots solution into a trusted event technology partner for organizations across industries, all united by one goal: to run events that work as beautifully as they look.

Your work is too important to be held back by disjointed tools or outdated systems. Every interaction should feel seamless—for guests, sponsors, and your team.

That’s why Handbid brings everything together in one place. From check-in to reporting, every detail works in sync to help you exceed expectations, elevate your brand, and focus on what matters most: creating exceptional experiences that move people to act.

No juggling apps. No waiting lines. No guesswork. Just smooth, reliable performance at every touchpoint.

What Drives Us

Software with a human purpose

We believe technology should support generosity, innovation, and connection—not complicate them.

That belief guides every product update, partnership, and customer relationship. We’re not just building software; we’re building confidence—for teams who raise funds, close deals, or deliver events that define brands.
